Project STAR has been supported
by Regione Toscana, with the aim of developing a laboratory demonstrator
of a high efficiency solar concentrator, based on the adaptive optical techniques,
already adopted in the most recent astronomical telescopes.
The Consortium which carries out the Project was composed by:
- National Institute of Applied Optics of the National
Research Council (INOA-CNR), Florence
- Astronomical Observatory of Arcetri of the National
Institute of Astrophysics (INAF), Florence
- Department of Astronomy and Space Science of the University
of Florence
- Department of Energetics "S. Stecco" of
the University of Florence
- Institute of Biometeorology of
the National Research Council (IBIMET-CNR), Florence
- Ronda High Tech, Zanè (VI)
Project STAR had a total budget of 600.000 €, of which 520.000 € were supplied
by Regione Toscana. The Project started on May 8, 2008, and finished on November
27, 2009.
The results of Project STAR were described
during a workshop, held on Nov. 26, 2009, in Aula A of the Dep. of Astronomy
